Can I place a hold on a book that is on the shelf?

Yes, you can.  Find the book in the library's "Books & More" tool, and click on its title.  Then press the Request button on the right side of the screen, and fill out the form to place a hold on the book.  If you're a student, alum, or Friend of the Library, the book will be placed on hold for you for three days, and you can pick it up at the Circulation Desk.  If you're a faculty or staff member, the book will be delivered to your office.  Please allow at least one full business day for the book to made available to you.
